Good news, we finally got some snow in Standish. I would estimate around 8" of snow in most areas, and we had little to no base to work with, so be careful if you are out riding as stumps and rocks are not far below the surface. It would actually help the club if you get out and pack down the trails. We have started to groom the trails around the center of town and hopefully have more snow on the way Friday and early next week. Check the website and follow us on Instagram as we provide more updates. Also, help the club by visiting our online store to donate to our trail and maintenance funds! www.standishsnoseekers.com

Nice day for a short ride to install new signs in near the gravel pit behind Patch's Variety. Look at all the places you can go from our trail system! Support your local club, get your club membership, donate to the trail fund or buy raffle tickets at www.standishsnoseekers.com With only a few inches of snow on the ground in Standish, a few of the club members took a road trip to Newport to ride the rail bed. We were pleasantly surprised to find very decent conditions from Newport to the Bear's Den in Dover-Foxcroft. Hats off to the trails crews in Newport, Corinna, Dexter and Dover-Foxcroft for making good use of the 8" of snow that we got last weekend! Don't forget to get your raffle tickets on the website, to win a 2 night stay at Inn by the River in the Forks! www.standishsnoseekers.com CAUTION! Many of our trails have been groomed, hoping to hold onto as much snow as we can with the pending rain storm on Thursday/Friday. But, please be careful as there are still many rocks, stumps and wet spots. There is a giant wet spot on R1, near South Ridge Dr. One of our groomers went in deep, up to the headlights. Please avoid this area until we get a deep freeze. There is no good way around this area and more rain this week won't help.
The Standish trail system is open for snowmobiling. We are currently in the process of opening all of the gates. Please be aware that there are still exposed rocks and stumps beneath the snow, as yesterday's storm was our first major storm of the season and the trails have not been groomed. Please ride carefully! Let us know if you see any trees across the trail or signs that need replacing as we have had several high wind events over the last few weeks. You can use our website contact page to report issues. www.standishsnoseekers.com Hope to see you on the trails!
Unofficial reports around town say up to 26" of snow fell today around Standish. The snowmobile trails on not officially open and most of the gates are still closed. This storm dropped very light and fluffy snow with little to no base below. There are still many rocks and stumps beneath this new snow. Be very careful if you do go out riding. The club will continue to assess the conditions over the next few days. Weather permitting and additional storms in the forecast could help for an early start to the season. Ride safe!
We have snow in the forecast beginning Saturday afternoon and running through a good part of Sunday. Don't forget to sign up for your Standish Sno-Seeker's membership and while you are there, buy a raffle ticket for some awesome prizes! www.standishsnoseekers.com
Check out the transformation of our new groomer barn over the past year! This took many, many hours of volunteer work by several of our outstanding club members as well as awesome donations of materials and time form many of our local business. You can find a list of these businesses on our About web page. Be sure to visit them and thank them for their donations. It's business owners like these and our strong membership that allows us to all enjoy the great trails that we have in Standish! Also, please check out our Store page. We have memberships on sale and raffle tickets available for purchase.
Check out the clubs newest Groomer! After 5 hours behind the wheel our newest groomer is on its way to the groomer barn. It’s a 2018 skidoo scandic wide track. It has the 900 ACE 4 stroke with High/Low range. It is fully picked, has heated everything and is ready to pull the new drag that Jerry is finishing up. This will allow us to keep the older scandic at Ryan and Lauren’s and the new scandic and Jeep at the groomer barn. Think Snow!
