Had a crew out early this morning while it was sleeting, snowing, raining and everything else mother nature could throw at us! We did get the trestle over the Sticky River decked and ready for the season. Thanks to Paul P., Christina P., Garrett V., Joe M., Paul K, Jim D., and Gracie! Busy weekend cleaning up after the wind storms over last few weeks. Two large pine trees fell behind Patches Store across a wide corner in the trail. Required 3 guys and 3 saws to limb and cut up the two trees. We then moved to the new clubhouse/groomer barn to empty out the remaining junk that was left in the building and take it to the transfer station. Still some work to do to complete the walls, install windows/doors and electrical work.
Please get out and check the trails in your area to make sure there are not trees down. Bring a pair of loppers and trim back the limbs where you can. Let us know if there are any areas needing work. Thanks! Due to unforeseen circumstances the Standish Sno-Seekers Snowmobile Club meeting has been cancelled for tonight 11/12. Tentatively rescheduled for Saturday 11/23. Keep an eye on this website for details.
As I write this message, the snow is falling outside and the plow truck just drove by the house! WooHoo!!! Just a reminder that we have a snowmobile club meeting tomorrow at the Standish Town Hall at 6pm. See you all there!
Great news Sno-Seekers, there is 1-3" of snow in the forecast for this Friday! So, before anyone asks... sorry the trails will not be open on Saturday (insert smiley emoji here). This first snowstorm should be a reminder to get your sleds ready, go out and help us with trail clearing, bridgework, etc, and pay your club membership dues and/or donate to our trail maintenance and grooming fund, (now available using our online store).
One of our largest projects this year is the construction of our groomer barn / clubhouse. The new roof is on, the exterior walls are going up, the new garage door is on order and the lot has been cleared and leveled. We could still use donations of electrical supplies/labor, insulation, interior wallboard, a propane heater, etc. Please use the contact form on the website if you can help. Be sure to visit our many contractors that have already donated to this great project. They are listed on the About page on our website. Thanks! Oh, I almost forgot our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday November 12th at Standish Town Hall. See you there! |
