Thanks to those who helped out with the decking of the trestle last Sunday morning. This is always a difficult chore which was made even more difficult this year due to six inches of snow already on the ground and cold drizzly weather. We have not used this trail in a few years but have to reroute ITS 89 back to the railroad tracks due to some logging and construction on other route. A reroute map will be posted shortly.

The next meeting for the Standish Sno-Seeker Snowmobile club is Tuesday, November 13, 6:30pm at the Standish Town Hall. Pot Luck Supper will begin at 6:30 with the meeting to follow. Please plan on attending the meeting if you ride in Standish. We have a lot of new information regarding the club and could really use your support. Thanks!
The Standish Sno-Seekers snowmobile club is looking for members. We have been in existence for over 25 years. Our current membership has dwindled, leaving the necessary work to only a few people and putting the club in jeopardy of folding. This would cause the many miles of recreational trails in Standish to no longer be maintained. All grooming, trail maintenance, signage would no longer be there. It would also cause the loss of some trails due to no more landowner permission. If you ride the trails, please fill out a membership form. The club needs membership dues to help purchase grooming equipment, fuel, bridge building supplies, etc.
You do not have to devote a lot of time by being a member, any volunteering is appreciated. If you are interested in joining the club, attending meetings or would like more information, please call Jim at 207-329-1967, or visit our web site: www.standishsnoseekers.com Thank you! |
