For those of you who haven't thought about snowmobiling since April, but appreciate the fact that we have a local trail system that will take you anywhere in the State of Maine and also to New Hampshire, Vermont and even Canada, you need to check out the awesome work done by several of our club members over the summer! As you saw from earlier posts, we are using an old garage to house our groomers and trail maintenance equipment, graciously donated by Gorham Sand & Gravel. We spent last year stripping it down to the frame, re-siding, new soffits and re-roofing it along with adding power, lighting, heater compressor and a new overhead door. Well, this summer the crew has almost completed the inside with insulation, drywall and paint. What amazing progress! We have to thank the many volunteers for their hard work, the local businesses (listed on website) who donated most of the materials and again Gorham Sand & Gravel for use of the building and property. Without all of them together (along with our local landowners), it would be difficult to have the awesome club that we have today to build and maintain the 90 miles of trails. No matter what you use the trails for, please consider a donation to the trail and/or maintenance funds at our website store. www.standishsnoseekers.com
